Label grade describes the condition of the front and rear paper labels on an SNES cartridge. The grade does not judge whether the game boots; it records the visual and collectible state of the printed label.
A Grade
An A label is clean, flat, bright, and complete. Minor handling marks are acceptable, but there should be no major fading, tearing, writing, heavy edge lift, or sticker residue.
B Grade
A B label is still display-worthy but shows visible use. Expect light scuffs, small edge wear, mild dulling, or a small corner flaw that does not dominate the cartridge.
C Grade
A C label is playable but clearly worn. This includes noticeable fading, wrinkles, larger edge lift, sticker residue, marker, or surface damage that affects shelf presentation.
D Grade
A D label is poor or heavily damaged. Torn labels, missing sections, severe water damage, heavy writing, replacement labels, or unreadable artwork belong here.
Archive Rule
When in doubt, grade down. A cartridge can still be a good custom build candidate with a low label grade, but the listing must make that visual condition clear.
