SNES Box Included Guide

How to classify SNES product boxes as CIB, reproduction box, or no box, with condition notes for collector listings.

Uncategorized

The box field records whether a listing includes retail packaging. It affects collector value, display appeal, shipping protection, and whether a product should be described as loose or complete.

CIB

CIB means the original retail box is included with the cartridge and manual. Box condition should still be described separately, especially for crushed corners, fading, tears, or missing flaps.

REP

REP means reproduction box. Reproduction packaging can be useful for display, but it must never be described as original retail packaging.

NONE

NONE means no box is included. This is the default for custom cartridges and most loose cartridge listings.

Box Condition

Important box notes include corner wear, flap integrity, sun fade, crushing, stickers, writing, water damage, tray inserts, and whether the box can safely hold the cartridge for display.
